Special Procedures for COVID - Perkiomen Creek Sojourn

In order to mitigate the risks associated with covid-19, we will be instituting new procedures for this year’s Perkiomen creek Sojourn.

*Don’t be intimidated by the following procedures. These are the new typical precautions you’ve seen elsewhere.

Facemasks/Hand Sanitizer/Temperatures/Waivers:

  1. Facemasks will be required whenever 6 feet of social distancing cannot be maintained.

  2. Event specific buffs or neck gaiters will be given to each participant at registration. These should be used throughout the event.

  3. Hand sanitizer will be available in abundance.

  4. Participants will have their temperature taken at registration with a non-contact thermometer. Those with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be allowed to participate.

  5. All participants must sign the COVID specific waiver at registration.

Bus Procedures:

  1. We will be running bus service for drivers only. In other words, if you have family members participating in the Sojourn, you must drop them off at registration prior to catching the bus.

  2. Buses will be filled to 50% capacity at a maximum.

  3. You will be required to wear a face mask on the bus.

  4. Buses will be cleaned between subsequent runs.

Staggered Start:

  1. In order to increase social distnacing on the water, we will be staggering the start of the sojourn. Groups of 25 paddlers will be released at 15 minute intervals. Paddlers can then enjoy the creek at any pace they wish. Safety boaters will be stationed at hazards along the route and will assist paddlers as needed.
